Subject: NSTC is soliciting applications for the 2026 "Subsidized Mission-Oriented Team Overseas Study Program" (Longmen Project). Applications are open from now until March 12, 2026 (internal application deadline is March 12, 2026).
Instructions:
I. Applications will be processed in accordance with the NSTC's "Guidelines for Subsidized Mission-Oriented Team Overseas Study Programs".
II. The 2026 application schedule is as follows:
(I) Application: Project leaders should submit their applications online starting January 15, 2026. The applying institution must compile the applications and attach two copies of the completed list, which must be sent to the National Science Council by March 17, 2026 (based on the date of issuance).
(II) Announcement of Results: Generally, by July 31, 2026.
(III) Project Implementation Period: September 1, 2026 to August 31, 2027 (or August 31, 2028 for a two-year project). (IV) Feedback Form from Overseas Study Institutions: The project leader should remind the supervisors of overseas study institutions to submit their feedback forms directly (not through the applicant institution or project leader) to the contact person at the National Science Council's Department of International Cooperation in Science and Education (i.e., the contact person for this case) by email before March 17, 2026.
III. This program will promote 15 key science and technology and humanities and social science research projects in 2026. The overseas study institutions recommended by the National Science Council span 123 institutions in 19 countries, with access to nearly 200 collaborative research laboratories. Project leaders are advised to give priority consideration to collaborating with these institutions, but this is not a limitation.
